Not only does Fremont Street have 7 casinos right on the street, but there are also 5 others within walking distance. Fremont Street also has other attractions, such as street vendors, shopping, patio bars on the street, live free music events, light shows on the canopy, and of course the SlotZilla zipline. All the casinos have hotels and restaurants to make your experience even better. Here is a quick view of all of these casinos. I will do more in depth of them in later blogs.

Off Fremont Street

El Cortez Hotel and Casino

Let’s talk about 3 of the casinos that aren’t on Fremont Street. The first is El Cortez Hotel and Casino. This is one of the oldest casinos on Fremont Street and they still have a couple of coin slot machines. Some of the hotel rooms have been redone but kept the 1940’s theme with sea foam green décor. All the other rooms have also been remodeled with a more modern decor. There is a spa, beauty salon (full service), Speakeasy Barbershop, and a history hallway with pictures and descriptions of some moments in Las Vegas history. There are also 4 restaurants when you get hungry: Siegel’s 1941, Eureka! Su Shi Ichiban, and Subway. There are two bars when you feel like a break from the slots: Ike’s bar and The Parlour bar. There are over 900 slot machines and 23 table games.

Main Street Station and California Hotel & Casino

The next two casinos are Main Street Station Casino Brewery Hotel and California Hotel and Casino. Both of these properties are owned by Boyd Gaming, so make sure you use your player’s card here. The sports book for both of these properties is Boyd’s sports. Main Street Station offers over 800 slot machines and 19 gaming tables. I really like this casino because it’s usually not as crowded, and they have both old and new slot machines. Main Street Station is a very quaint place that reminds you of a train station. Triple 7 Restaurant and Brewery is located here. It is downtown’s original microbrewery. The other restaurant here is Garden Court. It is a single-priced restaurant that serves brunch from 8-2 every day and dinner from 4-9 on Friday and Saturday. There is a covered walkway that takes you to California Hotel and Casino. Coming from the walkway, you emerge to a beautiful view of the casino floor below. In the walkway, you will find an Ethel M’s chocolates, Lappert’s Ice Cream, Aloha Specialties (which is a quick bite Hawaiian-themed restaurant, Cal Logo Shop, Vegas 808 shop, and a gift shop.

California Hotel was built with the intention of attracting customers from Hawaii. The casino offers over 1,000 slot machines and 28 table games. Besides the casino, the hotel offers a rooftop pool and a fitness center. If you are staying at Main Street Station, you have access to both. For food, you can go to The Market St. Café or Redwood Steakhouse. To take a break and enjoy some libations, there is Cal Sports Lounge and Holo Holo- The Happy Bar.

Plaza Hotel & Casino

The next casino that is not on Fremont Street is the Plaza Hotel & Casino. This is considered part of Fremont Street since it is at the end of Fremont, just across the street on Main Street. As you walk up to The Plaza there is a new Carousel Bar on the sidewalk. It has slots and video poker available at the bar. The hotel offers a roof-top pool and pickleball court. Aside from the great assortment of 700 slot machines, keno, and table games there is also bingo available. Be sure to get your Plaza Rewards card to enjoy discounts and free slot play at sign up. Sports book is available from William Hill. The assortment of restaurants ranges from breakfast to dinner and in between. There is a Pink Box donut shop, Hash House A Go-Go, a coffee shop, Pop Up Pizza for a quick bite, along with Fresh Mexican Grill and Aloha Hawaiian Grill. To top off your evening, stop at Oscar’s Patio which is a steakhouse on the roof of The Plaza. Besides the Carousel Bar there are 3 other bars to choose from when you are ready for a nightcap. Adjacent to The Plaza is Core Arena. This is a permanent equestrian arena with 2 outdoor arenas and 80 stalls. Many equestrian events take place here.

Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino

This casino is across the street from Pizza Rock on Third Street which is just steps away from Fremont Street. For food choices check out Freedom Beat for breakfast, brunch or all-day fare. Triple George Grill is a steakhouse or try the neighboring Hot N Juicy Crawfish restaurant which are both located next to Pizza Rock across the street from the Downtown Grand. Or if you want something quick you can get a hot dog and beer for $2 from a stand on the casino floor. Actually, they are pretty good. With over 325 slot machines and a rooftop pool there is plenty to keep you busy.

“The One” Casinos

The first 3 casinos on Fremont Street that I will tell you about are all owned by Derek and Greg Stevens. The One player’s card is good at all 3 casinos. If you stay at any of these hotels, you have access to Circa Stadium Swim. The first is the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.  It is the oldest casino on Fremont Street, opened in 1906. It is a little smaller than the newer casinos, but still has a nice assortment of slots and table games. There are 400 slot machines and 22 table games. The first time we came here, with our player’s card we got a free gift, a deck of cards with Golden Gate logo, after playing for only about an hour. Granted it wasn’t a fancy gift but was nice to be able to get something extra.

The second is The D Hotel & Casino. This hotel has a fitness center and it’s own pool with access to Circa Stadium Swim. There is a gift shop for all of those forgotten items and gifts for back home. Along with two floors of slots and gaming, there is an assortment of restaurants to choose from when you get hungry. You can gamble away with 920 machines and 27 table games. There is a coffee stand with quick bites, American Coney Island restaurant for lunch or dinner, Bacon Nation for any meal and Andiamo Steakhouse for a nice dinner. There are 4 bars including BarCanada, an ode to Canadian sports. We always enjoy coming here and seem to always find new places to play. Between the slots upstairs and little cubby holes on the casino floor, there is plenty of slots to explore here.

Circa is the newest hotel and casino from the Stevens’ brothers. It is a casino built with sporting events in mind. They have a huge sports book area, with Circa Sports Book (also available at the D and other casinos in the Las Vegas area). Of course, there are slot machines and table games on two floors of the casino. There are slot machines galore here numbering over 1300 along with 55 table games. There are 6 bars, mostly sports themed, and the Legacy Club which is a roof-top bar. To satisfy your hunger there is 8 East, Victory Burger, Saginaw’s Deli, Project BBQ Food truck and Barry’s Downtown Prime steakhouse. One of the biggest attractions at Circa is the roof-top pool, Stadium Swim. This includes 6 swimming pools. Not only does it have chaise lounges all over, but you can get reserve day beds or private cabanas. There are swim up bars and selfie walls. But the biggest attraction here is the 40 ft. tall definition screen where they have sports playing constantly. To round out the day, you may want to take in some shopping at Circa Collections, Lids, or Fuel an essentials gift shop. We always seem to do pretty good here and with so many slot machines, you’re sure to find one you like.

Fremont Hotel & Casino

Fremont Hotel & Casino is the third Boyd owned casino on Fremont Street. It is undergoing renovations, and the food court has been the first to be completed. It is impressive compared to the previous food court area. There are many options to choose from whenever you get hungry. There is Steak ‘N Shake, Lanai Express, Roli Rote, Tomo Noodles, Huey Magoos, & Craft Kitchen. There is also a Dunkin’ Donut for your breakfast and coffee cravings. For me this new food court seemed to just change the whole atmosphere of the casino. It is much brighter and seems more spacious. If you are looking for a nice sit-down dinner, Tony Roma Steakhouse is also part of the cuisine chooses. If you are staying at the hotel, you have access to the pool at The California Hotel & Casino. There are over 500 slot machines and 18 table games here. With all the renovations being done here, those numbers may change. Be sure to use your Boyd’s players card to get better offers for rooms and food. Boyd Sports Book is also available here.

Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino

Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino is the next on our list. This hotel has lots of amenities including a spa, salon, and fitness center. Best of all is the pool here. The Tank is a pool for all ages with a shark tank in the middle of the pool and a slide that goes through the tank that is available to use. The pool area is 3 levels, with lounges, hideout beds, cabanas, and gazebos available on all 3 levels. The 3rd level of the pool is limited to 21 & older guests. It features an infinity pool and walk-up bar. You must reserve either a cabana, daybed, or chaise lounge for this pool. There is also food & cocktails available for the shark tank pool area. If you feel like shopping, there are 5 stores available at the hotel. They are d’Oro, Style +Trend, The Chocolate Box, Nineteen Forty-Six Style, and Essentials. When it’s time to eat, there are many options available here. For breakfast you can enjoy a beignet at the Beignet Cart or grab something at Starbucks. For a light lunch or quick bite try The Grille or Chick-fil-A. When you’re ready for dinner there is Red Asian Cuisine, Cadillac Mexican Kitchen, Grotto Italian Ristorante, Chart House, or choose one of two great steakhouses: Vic & Anthony’s or Saltgrass Steak House. The other dining option is Claim Jumper (CJ) who offer breakfast all day, along with lunch and dinner fare. They are famous for their six-layer Chocolate Motherlode Cake!! The casino has a great variety of over 1000 slot machines, a smoke-free poker room with 13 tables, table games and they claim to have the most TVs per square foot than any other sports book in Nevada.

The Final 2

The last 2 casinos on Fremont Street are Four Queens Hotel and Casino and Binion’s Gambling Hall with Hotel Apache. Binion’s really became a force in casinos in Downtown Las Vegas when Benny Binion bought the property in 1951. It was the Horseshoe Club and was the first real gambling hall & saloon. Benny then bought the neighboring Boulder Club in 1960 and The Mint Hotel in 1988. This took up the whole block and is now Binion’s. Now both Binion’s and Four Queens are owned by TLC Casino Enterprises. The hotel at Binion’s is Hotel Apache and said to be haunted. If you want a real haunted experience, you can do the Benny Binion’s Experience which includes pick-up at the airport in the 1962 Cadillac Limousine and staying in the 1930’s style penthouse on the 4th floor along with a ghost hunting kit you’ll receive upon arrival.  The hotel has a roof-top pool which guests at Four Queens can also access. There is plenty of casino action with over 800 slot machines, 33 table & poker games and William Hill sportsbook. If you’re looking for a quick bite, there is Binion’s Café or Binion’s Deli. Another option is Benny’s Smokin’ BBQ & Brews, where not only is there great BBQ but also an exclusive microbrew selection. If you’re looking for dinner, Top of Binion’s Steakhouse is for you. The steakhouse is located on the 24th floor with amazing views. When you’re in the mood for a great saloon, Whiskey Licker Up Saloon, features the only open-air rotating bar with floor to ceiling retractable windows to view Fremont Street Experience. If you’re looking for a bar outside on Freemont Street try the Cowgirl Up Cantina, where you can sit on a real saddle!

Four Queens Hotel and Casino is the 7th and final casino on Fremont Street. The hotel is the only one that has no resort fees ever! As previously mentioned, there is access to the pool at Binion’s and there is a gift shop with essentials and souvenirs. If you’re looking for something to eat you can go to Magnolia’s Veranda which overlooks the casino floor and is open all day. Chicago Brewing Co. is another choice with food including entrees, handcrafted micro-brews and a selection of fine cigars. If you’re looking for fine dining check out Hugo’s Cellar. You will be greeted with long-stemmed roses for the ladies and continue your experience with all the expectations of fine dining including a tableside salad cart. At the end of your meal, you will be served a complimentary fruit dipped in chocolate with whipped cream. When you’re ready to head outside to enjoy a drink on Fremont Street stop at Patio Bar with large screen tv and a heating system when Las Vegas nights get a little chilly. As far as gaming is concerned, it is a smaller casino but packed with a great selection of over 1000 slots, 27 table games and a keno parlor. William Hill sportsbook is also available here. Make sure to get your All Access Players Club card which is the player’s card for both casinos.

Conclusion

As you can see, Fremont Street has a lot to offer and many things to do. There are a lot of other great things to do near-by, including the Mob Museum and the Neon Museum. Hopefully this has helped you to choose the best hotel and casino that meets your needs. Enjoy your stay on Fremont Street!!
