Hotel

The hotel was recently remodeled and with a contemporary twist of a lodge and rustic ambiance. There are three different room types to select from along with two different suites. The Cowboy Kitsch themed room comes with chic and modern amenities. Refined Lodge is the next room with the theme inspired by the Rockies and the legendary cattle baron homes from that area. The third room is the Rustic Modern which features weathered and aged furnishings and an outdoor warm feel. All three of these room choices along with the suites come with the following amenities: in-room fridge, a desk with executive chair, safe and Starbucks coffee service. Also included is armoire and closet, 55″ TV, deluxe bathrooms and more. You also get a complimentary wine tasting for 2 with these rooms. There are two options for suites that may better meet your needs. The Luxe Lodge Suite is meant for the person on a working vacation. This suite has two rooms, the first is set up with a table/workstation to make your work more comfortable with couch and mini-bar and then enjoy your relaxation time with a soaking tub and king size bed. The second suite is the Ranchero Suite suited for those guests who like to entertain. Here you will find a living room layout with couch and chair and full wet bar to spend time having some fun. When it’s time to relax, you will find a soaking tub and king-size bed in the second room of this suite. All rooms also supply scheduled airport shuttles. We have never stayed here, but it sounds like a nice place.

Casino

There are over 1100 slot machines, 26 table games and a new sports betting area with Circa sports. They have all the usual slot machines, both new and old school, but what makes the Silverton a little different is that they have a dedicated room for Dragon Link machines and a dedicated area called Buffalo Xing for all Buffalo slot machines. The Dragon Link room does have a couple of the other link machines, like lock it link, but it is mainly Dragon Links. I really enjoy this room because I love playing Dragon Links. They have more of these machines throughout the casino in case the room is full. There is a really nice atmosphere here and the casino is surrounded by restaurants so you can grab a bite without having to leave the casino floor. They do offer free play, gift giveaways and discounts on food with their player’s card. If you like to gamble, I think you would enjoy this casino.

Dining

The Silverton doesn’t disappoint on assortment for your dining pleasure. To get your day started or to help keep you going there is a Starbucks. For an afternoon lighter fare, your choices include Johnny Rockets, WuHu Noodle, or Sundance Grill which also serves dinner entrees. For dinner you can enjoy a tasty Mexican dish at Mi Casa Grill Cantina or Twin Creeks Steakhouse where you can enjoy a mouthwatering steak or any of their other delicious entrees. To end your evening stop at the Shady Grove Lounge where not only can you enjoy an after-dinner drink but try mini-bowling inside a 1950’s Airstream trailer. If you don’t feel like bowling, lounge under the indoor North American Aspen tree. You might want to choose the Flare Bar instead where there are 260 glass and crystal chandeliers that pulse with color. This bar is located in the center of the casino floor. And if you like aquariums, try the Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge. Not only do they serve pizza, burgers and more but you can get your after-dinner drinks here while enjoying the view of the mermaids and the thousands of tropical fish in the aquarium.

Amenities- even more to do

You will find some of the normal amenities that you find at other hotels such as a 24/7 fitness center and a gift shop and a swimming pool. The nice thing is that The Swimmin’ Hole has a newly remodeled deck with cabanas and a bar and restaurant. But the two things that make the Silverton really unique are the 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium and The Bass Pro Shop. This is a flagship mega store for Bass Pro Shops with it’s own 40,000-gallon freshwater aquarium and trout stream. It is 165,000 square foot building with 2 floors. It is truly a dream store for anyone who enjoys doing things outdoors. The aquarium is also such a great feature with mermaids swimming in it and Santa dives during the Christmas season. They also have a Mermaid school for both children and adults. Make sure to bring your camera, not only for the aquarium, but all the great displays in Bass Pro Shop!

Something extra- Silverton Village

Silverton Village is right in the middle of the parking lot between The Silverton Casino and Hyatt Place Las Vegas. Here you can get your morning coffee at Starbucks, get a quick bite at Blaze Pizza, Firehouse Subs or Panera Bread. There is also Sapporo Revolving Sushi or Kobashi Ramen & Curry. If you are looking for a more substantial meal head to Cracker Barrel. Don’t forget to stop at Terrible’s to get you gas and snacks for your travels.

Conclusion

As you can see, the Silverton is not your typical casino resort and yet it is. They have great slot machines and the extra experience of areas with only Dragon Link or Buffalo machines. The hotel has been completely remodeled with a lodge and rustic theme. There are plenty of choices for those food cravings, typical amenities and so much more with the aquarium and Bass Pro Shop. It is also near both South Point Hotel Casino & Spa and close to The M Resort Casino and Hotel. There are also promotions for not only veterans and military but other groups. Monday is Seniors Day, age 50 plus, Tuesday is for Hospitality employees, Wednesday is Military and Veterans, Thursday is for Healthcare/ First Responders and Fridays for Teachers. This is truly one of our favorite casinos. I hope if you’re looking for somewhere new to go while in Las Vegas, you’ll check out the Silverton.

The main disadvantage to the Silverton is that is off strip. If you enjoy shopping and the bigger shows, then you may consider staying on the strip. My best advice is to decide what you want to do during your vacation, then find a resort that meets all or most of your needs.

We enjoy telling people about our experiences at the casinos we visit and hope to inspire them to visit one of them or find one that they enjoy near them that makes them happy. We are honest with opinions without influence from outside opinions, but they are just that, our opinion and you may not agree.
