Caesars Palace is one of the most iconic hotel and casino in Las Vegas. From the huge statue of Caesar in the front to Hell’s Kitchen restaurant you can’t miss it when you’re on the strip. Caesar’s is on a huge piece of property in Las Vegas, and they have taken advantage of it by using space for gardens, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and of course gambling. Below is some information and our impressions to help you decide if this is a good choice for you.

Hotel
As with most of the hotels on the strip you can find basic rooms to luxurious suites at Caesars. The Julius Deluxe rooms are offered in king or queen rooms with all basic amenities and a safe and mini bar. If you are looking for a spa tub, desk, and a coffee pot then the Palace Premium room might be for you. These are also available with king or queen beds and have a safe and iron/ironing board in room. The Augustus Premium with king or queen bed is another choice with spa bath, hair dryer, safe, coffee maker and iron/ironing board. If a suite is more your style, then you should choose the Colosseum Premium Suite! This comes with a separate living room with couch and chairs and coffee table, a desk, safe and hair dryer. What’s really different is it has a pool table! This is the only room type where smoking is optional at least as of now. Caesars has gone non-smoking rooms at all of their hotels in Las Vegas, so I imagine this too will end soon. We have never stayed here, so I can’t speak to room cleanliness, etc. but I do know I see lots of people staying there so I would look into the rooms if you’re interested.
Casino
The casino has pretty much everything you are looking for in a casino. There are over 1300 slot machines, 185 table games, and an 18-screen sports book area. As with all of Caesar’s properties, the slot machines are a mix of new and old favorites. Surrounding the casino floor are some of the many restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Even though the casino floor is a bit spread out, we always enjoy coming here and seeing what’s new. I also like that it’s not real dark as some casino floors are.
Dining
There are 28 dining choices in the casino area plus many more in the Forum shops. There are breakfast choices, snacks/lunch options and sit-down dinner options. You can do celebrity chef restaurants, 2 Bobby Flay choices, 2 from Guy Savoy, Nobu, Giada’s Pronto (which is quick bites) Peter Luger Steak House, Guy Fieri’s Chicken, Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill and of course the famous Hell’s Kitchen is on the outdoor garden area. If you’re looking for a buffet, Bacchanal buffet is open again. Some non-celebrity choices are Cafe Americano and Beijing Noodle No.9 are a few. As you can see, there is no lack of dining options. We haven’t eaten in either of the Bobby Flay restaurants, but when Mesa Grill was open, we ate there and it was really good, so I imagine that his other two are also. Giada’s Pronto is good, but I was a little disappointed in the choices. It’s good for a quick bite. We hope to check out more of the restaurants soon. One of the nice things is that there are choices in every price range which is great when you don’t want to spend a lot of money or just want a quick bite.
Amenities
There are plenty of things to do here besides gamble. If you enjoy swimming or lazing by the pool, you have a choice of seven pools in the Garden of the Gods pool area. Cabanas and daybed rentals are available at all of the pools along with lounge chairs available for all hotel guests. The Fortuna pool has five swim-up blackjack tables with drink service. The Venus pool is a 21 and over only pool with bar area. All the other pools have their own unique features. Be sure to see which pool best suites your needs.
If you’re looking for relaxation, check out Qua Baths & Spa. Here you will find Roman inspired baths and saunas, get a massage or enjoy a facial. There is also a salon for all of your hair and nail needs. If you are from Nevada the spa offers 15% discount full price spa treatments, Monday through Thursday. I really want to go here one day just because of the baths. They are so unique and look like fun!
There is plenty of nightlife here with concerts, such as Garth Brooks or Adele, or other show productions like Absinthe. If you’re looking for a lively place to go to try Omnia. Other popular places are Vanderpump’s Cocktail Garden and Montecristo Cigar Bar or the many other bars and lounges.
Shopping
I put shopping in its own category because the Forum shops and walkways are like their own little area. There are beautiful statues along the walkways, entertainment, restaurants and of course stores. There are 160 shops and restaurants here. We found that it’s easy to get turned around trying to see everything, but even if you don’t want to shop it’s a great area to walk through at least once. There are also a few shops on Appian Way which is a hallway between Numb Bar and Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill. Every time we walk through this area, we find something new. I highly recommend taking a stroll here. I love doing the touristy type shops and there is a great gelato shop which is my weakness.
Conclusion
As you can see, Caesar’s Palace has a lot to offer and even if it’s not somewhere you think you might want to stay, I recommend you at least walk through the hotel lobby, casino area and the Forum shops at least once. The only downfall for us, is that it is a bit of a walk from the hotel to the actual strip. Of course, doing it once is nice because there are beautiful gardens, statues and of course Hell’s Kitchen but if it’s harder for you to do a lot of walking, you may not want to have to do this every day to get to Las Vegas Boulevard and the other casinos on the strip.
I also recommend that you get a player’s club card. They not only get you discounts on food and shopping, but Caesar’s is really good about giving either discounts or free rooms when you use your card. Before we moved to Las Vegas, we stayed many times at a Caesar’s property in Las Vegas for well over a week only paying resort fees. This is still not totally free, but $35 a day is much better than paying the room rate plus the resort fee. We also stayed at the Caesar’s hotel in Indiana with just resort fees.
