We have stayed at this resort several times and find that it is a great home base for exploring not only Santa Fe and Taos, but the surrounding areas.

This resort has so much to offer that I decided to write a separate piece for it. It is owned and run by the Pueblo of Pojoaque. The first thing to notice is the amazing Native American art collection here. It is the Pueblo of Pojoaque’s Buffalo Thunder collection. It is one of the largest collections, with over 400 pieces in New Mexico. There are pieces scattered throughout the hotel so make sure you stroll around and see all this beautiful art!
Hotel
There are so many options for type of room you can get from king or 2 queens with fireplace or not, with balcony or terrace, different suites or if you’re planning a longer stay, you can get a suite at Homewood suites which offers fully equipped kitchens and many other amenities. Any room you choose offers amazing views of the Jemez mountains. We had without the fireplace but with a terrace and it was so nice sitting outside and enjoying the mountain views and wonderful weather. All rooms come with workspaces, clock radio and coffee makers. All rooms also feature original artwork by local artists.
Casino
Our favorite thing to do here is go to the casino! The casino has 1200 slot machines and table games. It is a pretty busy casino, not only do guests play here but locals stop by for some fun, but we didn’t have any problems getting on machines we liked. The staff is super friendly and it’s a fun atmosphere. Be sure to get the players club for gift giveaways and discounts at restaurants and the hotel. We only stayed two nights and got a free gift! It is also connected to Cities of Gold casino which is about 12 miles from here. This is also owned and operated by the Pueblo of Pojoaque. This casino offers 500 slot machines, bowling, and dining, and has a hotel.
Dining
When hunger hits, there is a wide selection of food options, but be sure to check the times as not all of them are open 24 hours. If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch, the Iguana Café is the place to go. Turquoise Trail Bar & Grill is open from 11 am every day except Tuesday (it opens at 3) and is open until 10 pm. There is a good selection of lunch and dinner items here. Pueblo Deli is another option. It opens at 8 am and closes at midnight weekdays and 2 am on Friday and Saturday. If you are looking for a stylish dinner, try the Red Sage Restaurant. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday so keep this in mind. There is also a bar in this restaurant. If you’re just looking for some coffee to wake you up, Starbucks is open from 6am-2pm daily.
Amenities
There are many ways to occupy your time here. Let’s start with golf. Towa golf club has 3 independent, 9-hole golf courses and when you get hungry you can fill up at Towa Grill. You can’t beat the scenery on these courses.
If golfing isn’t a love of yours, how about some spa treatments? The Wo’P’in spa is a great way to relax and unwind. Wo’P’in means Medicine Mountain in the Native Tewa language. The pueblo is known as the “water drinking place” and this spa merges Indigenously influenced treatments aromatherapy and trained therapists to provide you with a restorative experience. You are encouraged to arrive an hour prior to your treatment to experience the Purification Ritual using the whirlpool, sauna, and steam room to relax you even more before your treatment. The spa offers facials, body treatments and massages. There is also a salon with pedicures, manicures, waxing, and hair services available.
If neither of these are your cup of tea, the hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub and 24-hour fitness center. There is also a walking trail around the property, where you can ride bikes or walk your dogs. There is a gift shop that has a little of everything including things to pick up as gifts.
Other fun things
Check out upcoming events at the indoor entertainment venue on the property for a night of fun!! There are concerts, shows, and other entertainment here. As mentioned previously, the Cities of Gold casino is not far and you can not only have fun at slots, but you can go bowling. You can also explore the Pueblo of Pojoaque and POEH cultural center and Museum. You can take the high road to Taos and explore all the wineries. If you want a day trip continue on to Taos and see all it has to offer.
Conclusion
As you can see there are a lot of offerings here and the location is great especially if you want to explore Taos and more of northern New Mexico. You could literally stay here your whole vacation and find something to do every day. We strive to get people excited to travel, even if close to home. Find your adventure and have fun!!
