There are 3 local casinos in downtown Henderson on the main street which is Water Street. None of these are big casinos, but they all are great fun. Water Street is also filled with many restaurants & shops. There are many events held on Water Street also, such as the Christmas Parade and Hot Rod Show. Henderson is a great town to visit just be aware that if you come when there is an event happening, the casinos will be very crowded, and parking is limited. If you’re looking for a more relaxed vibe than the casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, then these will be right for you. This post includes some affiliate links. Emerald Island Casino The first is Emerald Island at 120 Market St. It is a small casino, but has many new games like Dollar Storm, a lot of the favorites; Dragon Link, for example, older versions of favorites such as Coyote Moon and poker machines. It may not seem like it but it does have over 400 slot machines. It has a small bar, and the real draw is the restaurant, Emerald Island Grill. It is the only 24-hour restaurant in downtown Henderson. Not only is the food really good, but with a player’s card you get many offers on free breakfasts and lunches. I have never been here when the restaurant is not packed. It reminds me of a good diner-style restaurant. Another fun thing they do here is give free food on the casino floor on special occasions. We were there the day of the Christmas parade, and they gave out slices of pizza before the parade and Root Beer floats after the parade. I hadn’t had a float in ages, so of course I had to try one and it was delicious!! Like other casinos, they run specials for extra points and free gifts with a player’s card. There is a sportsbook here, it is William Hill sports bet. There are no table games or poker tables here. If you’re looking for a great hometown casino, this is it! The Rainbow Club The second casino is The Rainbow Club, which is located at 122 S. Water Street. The Rainbow Club is also a small casino with an assortment of 330 slot machines. The restaurant here is the Triple B- Brooks Brothers Burgers. The brothers were the former owners of both the Rainbow Club and Emerald Island. This is also a very good and very busy restaurant. Again, with a player’s card you can get great offers on the food here. This casino is only slots, no table games, poker tables or sports book. Both casinos partner with local businesses on Water Street such as Juan’s Flaming Fajitas and Mojave Brewing for discounts with your player’s card. This casino can get a little crowded at times, especially on gift giveaway days. Even though there aren’t a lot of slot machines it’s still a fun little casino to visit. We usually come here for breakfast (even without a coupon, the prices are great!) and then play at all three casinos. The Pass Casino The third casino, at 140 S. Water St. is The Pass. It is owned by DeSimone Gaming who also owns Railroad Pass Casino in Boulder City, NV. The Player’s Junction card is good at both casinos. This casino has over 350 slot machines including all the favorites of Buffalo, Lightning Link, etc. It also has a few of the more obscure ones like Mad Max and Conan. There is also Circa Sports book. With the players card you can earn points, comps, and free gas. You can also get gifts and prizes with your points. There are 2 restaurants here, Ristorante Italiano which is fine Italian dining and Emilia’s which is casual dining. There are 2 bars that are open 24/7. There is live entertainment at the Silver Bar every Friday and Saturday. The Venue is a banquet space that can be rented for meetings or celebrations. The only drawback for me is that the casino is very dark. I like the feel of brightly lit casinos, but that is my preference, and it may not be a problem for you. Hotel New to The Pass is Atwell Suites at the Pass. This new hotel is the first hotel in downtown Henderson, and it is on Water Street, next to the Pass. This hotel offers only suites. They are available with 1 King or 2 Queen beds. All rooms have with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and wet bar. Free breakfast is offered with room reservations. Amenities include a pool and fitness center. There is one on site restaurant, Bar & Bites where you can enjoy tasty small bites like burger and wings, ready to drink cocktails, beer, and wine. Enjoy a glass of wine while facing Water St. at the Wine bar and enjoy some people watching. Final Thoughts All 3 of these casinos are great fun to go to. They may be small, but they offer a variety of slot machines, have great restaurants and really cater to their customers. If you are visiting the area, try to take a day and wander around Water St. You may be surprised what you’ll find. If you’re looking for a good meal not at one of the casinos, try Juan’s Flaming Fajitas. We highly recommend it!
